The silver run in 2004 was EXTREMELY early.  Our pink salmon clients had the pleasant surprise of a strong silver run as early as the last days of July.  Ordinarily,  our peak for silvers is in October,  however this year we had some of our best fishing in mid-August.

How can you not appreciate a trip like this.  Just look at that sky and that smile on Kenny's face.  He knocked off 7 species of fish in a single day (and just like with my son,  the favorite fish is a sculpin!).  Not bad for an 8 year old.  His mom and little brother were along for the ride in 2005,  so take a look at that gallery too.

How can you resist a bon fire and hotdog roast on the beach?  August has a lot of those at the Akwe mouth.  One of my highlights every year is having the Johnsons come back for a week on the beach.

The continuation of the Jones' kayak trip.  The ladies and I flew out as our much needed rain began to fall.  After incredible silver fishing early in August,  the rivers dried up so much that no new fish could come in.  Incredible sea-run cutthroat fishing though.  Just look at all that moss growing where the Akwe and New Italio join.  That is dad and brother fishing as we flew out over them.

With our little shot of rain,  the silver run really exploded as you'll see in the September gallery...
